The asters attract most of the insects in the yard these days since there are few alternatives. With the limited depth of focus I tried to get a good image of the head and the beautiful geometry of the mandibles in opposition. This bee was covered in pollen and if I magnify this image you can see the specks of pollen on his face and just make out the shoulder of his leg that was caked in the yellow dust.
