THE OLD ROSE

History is a place time hasn’t forgotten.  The romance of the rose is a walled garden filled with beauty and thorns, a paradise garden where narcissus reflect on quiet pools, a world of the five petalled Tudor rose, a world of war and courtly love. The hybrid modern roses tell a tale of far off places and dedicated individuals with a purpose in mind. Francis Meilland’s peace rose spent the second world war in seclusion (safe from the pestilence of war) and became at the end of the war symbol.  “We hope the ‘Peace’ rose will influence men’s thoughts for everlasting world peace“. In the wild rose the seeds carry the memory of a distant past. They carry the potential of every rose that will be. In many ways no other rose has ever exceeded their beauty.
