I see this bird around a bit but rarely in the open. When the sunflowers go to seed almost every bird in the neighborhood stops by or some treats. Yesterday I managed to get pictures of 5 or 6 species without even moving from my chair. Looking up the sky provides the perfect background.

The walkers round the corner alone, in pairs, or with a dog. They ask me what I do and I reply. One young woman with a dog I gave unwanted plants because for her this had meaning.

  3. Great picture! Aren’t these little guys usually very fidgety? They are not that common here, but the few I have seen don’t stay still for long enough to get a picture..

    1. Thanks. Most of the sunflowers were small this year because they didn’t get enough water. This particular one is large I think because it gets more water along with the tomato plants. Thanks for stopping by.
