Mint plants have square stems.  Last spring, I dug all the mint plants out of the herb garden. Where they get no water they pretty much die off on their own or at least don’t spread very rapidly. When they do get water, they run like Kenyan marathoners. They spread over things and under things and come up in the middle of where they are not wanted. Mint is worse than telemarketers. I’ve stopped answering the phone. Like most herbs mint is popular with pollinators. Cat mint is popular with cats even though cats are not pollinators. This mint is spearmint. Next spring I will dig it out again.
